From their change.org petition:

“[He] was released from state prison in 2004 and detained in the Orange County jail based on an SVP petition filed by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. He was later found by an Orange County jury to be a Sexually Violent Predator under the state Welfare & Institutions Code and committed to the Department of State Hospitals for treatment.
On October 25, 2019, the Orange County Superior Court ordered [him] conditionally released into the community under the supervision of Liberty Healthcare.
On February 5, 2021, the Orange County Superior Court found “extraordinary circumstances” existed to authorize relocating [him] outside of Orange County.”

While this man committed several crimes, he served his time plus much more and will still be supervised. This is a classic case of “not in my backyard”.

Self-fulfilling prophecy. 😡
If these asshat legislators didn’t create these frightening names like “Sexually Violent Predator”, then people wouldn’t be all up in arms!!

I still marvel at these people that will go to great and extraordinary lengths to keep someone that has paid their debt to society out of their community, yet show zero concern when murderers, violent gang members, drug dealers that target kids and every other type of criminal move into their community. This lack of concern makes them hypocrites? I seriously doubt the community in Twentynine Palms would even know about this pending move were it not for government officials. Makes me wonder why these officials arent shouting from the rooftops whenever some non registrant with a record moves to their community. They even want to let every kind of criminal out of jail because of covid, with the exception of registrants.
